Terms of Use

Checkmate is a productivity workspace for projects, tasks, reminders, collaboration, and AI-assisted planning. These terms govern your use of the product.

Acceptance

These Terms of Use govern your use of Checkmate, which is operated by Edge Case LLC. By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using Checkmate, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the service.

Eligibility and Accounts

  • You must be legally able to enter into a binding agreement to use Checkmate.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for maintaining the security of your account and devices.
  • You may not share access in a way that bypasses seat, account, or security controls.

Your Content

You keep ownership of the content you submit to Checkmate, including project data, comments, files, invitations, and prompts.

You give us a limited right to host, process, transmit, display, and use that content only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the service.

You are responsible for making sure you have the rights to upload or share any content you place in the product.

Collaboration and Sharing

Checkmate includes shared teams, projects, assignments, invitations, comments, and attachments. If you invite or authorize other users into a workspace, they may be able to view or act on content based on the permissions you grant.

You are responsible for managing who you invite into shared work and for using sharing features appropriately.

Paid Plans and Subscriptions

Checkmate may offer optional paid plans, including auto-renewing subscriptions such as Pro monthly or Pro yearly. The plan title, subscription length, and current price are shown before purchase.

Purchases made in the iOS app are processed by Apple through your App Store account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.

You can manage or cancel App Store subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings. Apple handles App Store billing, cancellation, and refund requests according to its terms and policies.

Paid limits and features may change for future billing periods, but the limits available to you before purchase will be honored for the current paid period unless a change is required by law, security, or abuse prevention.
